Update Bluelog v-1.0.4

Bluelog is a Bluetooth site survey tool, designed to tell you how many discoverable devices there are in an area as quickly as possible. Bluelog differs from most Bluetooth scanners in that it prioritizes speed of reporting over anything else (i.e. it doesn’t spend time trying to pull detailed data from a device) and doesn’t require any user intervention to function. As the name implies, its primary function is to log discovered devices to file rather than to be used interactively. Bluelog could run on a system unattended for long periods of time to collect data. In addition to basic scanning, Bluelog also has a unique feature called “Bluelog Live”, which puts results in a constantly updating Web page which you can serve with your HTTP daemon of choice.

Release Notes v-1.0.4: This large update features many internal improvements and a completely new Bluelog Live CGI module. Performance on OpenWRT and the Pwnie Express Pwn Plug was improved.

Xiwtool is a wireless network scanning and configuration tool for Linux desktops.

Xiwtool is a graphical Wireless Access Point scanning and configuration tool. The program is written in C and works closely with the Linux wireless driver and uses Xlib to create its windows and controls, so it is compatible with all systems that have a Linux desktop and a wireless card that Linux supports.

With a wireless driver installed, xiwtool can scan and view statistics for nearby WAPs. Additionally, with many of Linux’s networking and wireless tools, you can also connect to open or authenticated networks. Xiwtool also checks your your machine and notifies you if the system needs any drivers or networking tools to connect to nearby WAPs, and the documentation describes many other configuration options.

Port Scan Attack Detector V2.2

The Port Scan Attack Detector (psad) is a collection of three system daemons that are designed to work with the Linux iptables firewalling code to detect port scans and other suspect traffic. It features a set of highly configurable danger thresholds (with sensible defaults), verbose alert messages, email alerting, DShield reporting, and automatic blocking of offending IP addresses. Psad incorporates many of the packet signatures included in Snort to detect various kinds of suspicious scans, and implements the same passive OS fingerprinting algorithm used by p0f.

Release Notes Version 2.2: This release adds detection of IPv6 attacks and malicious traffic by parsing ip6tables logs, validation of ICMP6 type/code combinations, a new comprehensive test suite in the test/ directory, a 15% speedup over previous psad releases, a bugfix for the &LOG_DAEMON() error noticed by a few users, and a bugfix for the “qw() used as parentheses” warning for recent versions of Perl
